Warkworth A&P Show Nov 15th 2011

Since it began in 1867, the Warkworth A&P Show has attracted thousands of visitors from town and country to experience and enjoy the unique mixture of animal competitions, equestrian events, wood chopping, sheepdog trials, Highland dancing and of course all sorts of agricultural and domestic equipment and products from our trade exhibitors.

The first known show was held in 1867 on the village green until the Government of the day granted its present site in 1900.

Other than in the World War II years when the land was requisitioned by the DefenCe Department as a large camp area for New Zealand and American troops the Annual Show has been held there every year. From 1954 to 1990 a two day show was held, since then an annual one day show has been held and now attracts between ten and twelve thousand people each year. And with your help we would like to make it more!
